About the Book

The Royal Kohinoor Heist: A 1930s Spy Thriller is a fast-paced historical thriller set in London in 1936 — a time of political tension, imperial power, and secret resistance movements.
At the center of the story is Kehar Singh, a young revolutionary from Punjab who dares to attempt the impossible: stealing the Kohinoor diamond from the Tower of London. Weeks after the proclamation of King George VI, the world’s most heavily guarded jewel mysteriously disappears, triggering a tense chase through prison walls, secret recordings, underground networks, and the shadowy world of espionage.
Rooted in history yet driven by the adrenaline of a spy thriller, the novel explores courage, sacrifice, rebellion, and unfinished historical questions that still resonate today.
At its heart lies a powerful question:
Should the Kohinoor be returned to India — the land of its origin and its last true home?
Blending historical realism with suspense, political intrigue, and emotional depth, the novel takes readers on a thrilling journey across London, the Thames, and the turbulent realities of colonial history.

Why I Wrote This Book?

I wrote this novel because I have always felt that a part of our history lives in silence — in the stories never told, the courage never recorded, and the dreams our forefathers carried quietly in their hearts. So much of India’s struggle for freedom was shaped by ordinary men and women who dared extraordinary things, often at great personal risk. Their desperation for dignity, their hunger for respect, and their yearning for a free India form the emotional pulse of this book.

Whether the Kohinoor heist at the centre of this story truly occurred is something history may never confirm — but that “maybe” is powerful. It carries the echo of countless Indians who tried the impossible simply because they believed their motherland deserved better. Through the journey of the Kohinoor diamond, this novel attempts to reclaim a fragment of India’s stolen pride, to give voice to a legend that might have been, and to honour the heritage that shaped us.

Though The Royal Kohinoor Heist is written as a thriller, for me, it is also an act of remembrance. It is a tribute to the lakhs of freedom fighters — the unsung, the forgotten, the young who never grew old — who gave everything so that we could inherit a nation with its head held high. Their sacrifices beat beneath every chapter of this story.

In writing this book, I hope to carry their memory forward — and to remind readers that courage, even when unrecorded, changes the destiny of nations.

If You Believe The Kohinoor Must Be Returned To India Please Send This Petition To The Ministry Of External Affairs

ANNEXURE 4
PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
(For the Kohinoor’s return)

To The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India
I, a citizen of India, am proud of my heritage. The Kohinoor diamond is believed to have originated from the Kollur mines of Golconda. Historical accounts say the diamond belonged to the 13th-century Kakatiya Dynasty and once adorned the eye of Kali Maa in the Bhadrakali Temple at Warangal.
Over the years, the Kohinoor became an article of conquest for many. Although Maharaja Ranjit Singh is believed to have willed the Kohinoor to the Jagannath Temple in Puri just before his death in 1839, the British bypassed this final wish when they seized the gem a decade later in 1849.  The Britishers after defeating the Sikh Empire coerced the Treaty of Lahore and obtained the Kohinoor for their Queen.
Today, the Kohinoor is in the Tower of London as part of the Crown Jewels. We feel the government must renew efforts to bring it back to India through consultations with the British Government. Please treat this a petition and an earnest request.
The Kohinoor is an original property of Akhand Bharat and must find its way back to its rightful place.
